International Women's Day

As International Women's Day dawns upon us, it's a moment to reflect on the incredible strength, resilience, and creativity that women bring to the world.

Today, I want to shine a light on three remarkable Australian women who have not only inspired me but have also collaborated with me, enriching my artistic journey in profound ways.

Natalie Davies

Firstly, I must pay homage to my friend of 27 years and photographer Natalie Davies,
whose lens captures the essence of the moment with such finesse that when we work together on Fleur Harris photoshoots, I often find myself moved by her grace and expertise. Her ability to identify and capture the perfect split of a second, and imbue it with emotion and depth, is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

Natalie's dedication to her craft and her unwavering passion for storytelling through her photography serves as a beacon of inspiration for creatives everywhere. I’m so grateful to have worked with Natalie on so many photoshoots over the years – she is a much loved and integral part of the Fleur Harris journey.

Lauren Pilkington

It’s with much admiration that I raise a toast to creative visionary and master florist Lauren Pilkington of Poppy Culture. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lauren on several occasions and observed her as she peacefully and methodically builds an arrangement - it is poetry in motion. Lauren's innate understanding of nature's beauty and her ability to translate it into stunning displays of colour, texture and emotion is truly remarkable. Her work reminds me of the delicate yet resilient nature of life and is an important celebration of the deeply felt joy that nature can bring to people.

Sophie Brown

Sophie Brown, whose DIY prowess knows no bounds. Sophie's creativity is seemingly limitless. She fearlessly dives into projects, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary with her innovative ideas and expert craftsmanship.

Her passion for empowering others to embrace their creativity is infectious, reminding us that we all have the power to shape our world. I recently had the pleasure of working with Sophie on the giant flower installation for the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was two of the most challenging and hardest working weeks of my career – but doing it alongside Sophie made them two of the most enjoyable.

Together, these women represent the epitome of strength, creativity, and resilience. They remind us that as women, our voices are powerful, our talents boundless, and our potential limitless. So let us celebrate not only these remarkable women but all the women around the world who continue to defy expectations, break barriers, and inspire creativity and positive change.

Happy International Women's Day!

With love and happiness,

Fleur xx
